What happened in commodities this week?
Commodities started the week very well, but then most of the gains were erased on Friday.
- Copper: +0.89%
- Gold -0.74%
- Silver -1.69%
- Uranium +13.5%
- GSCI +2.82%
The dollar, on the other hand, had a green Friday, and it even surpassed the Euro for a brief moment.
- DXY +0.68%
What is this week’s show about?
Last week was a big week for uranium. Despite gold, silver and broad-market equities crashing at the end of the week because of J. Powell’s speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium, the URNM index managed to close the week +13% in the green on the back of news coming out of Japan that its new prime minister wants to speed up nuclear restarts as well as start building new nuclear power plants as soon as possible.
Michael Burry also seemed excited about nuclear and went vocal about it on Twitter, as did Elon Musk.
All these things combined caused uranium to have a beautiful week.
In this video, Justin Huhn, the Uranium Insider, told me more about what excatly is happening in the world of nuclear right now as well as what his outlook and uranium investing strategy are for the next couple of months.
I was also joined by Steve Penny, the Silver Chartist, who explained to me what exactly happened at the Jackson Hole Symposium, as well as what he expects to happen in gold and silver for the rest of 2022.
For the “Regular Portfolios” segment, I was joined by Steve Mueller, a 39 year old dentist from Oklahoma, who hold well over 120 stocks in his portfolio, yet tells me that he expects uranium stocks to outperform all of them.
