New Silver Discovery Next to KSM, But is There a Real System?

Goldstorm Metals’ flagship is the Crown project. Crown sits about 45 km north-northwest of Stewart in BC’s Golden Triangle, on trend south of Seabridge’s KSM and Tudor Gold’s Treaty Creek. Ken, the CEO, was part of the Brucejack/Valley of the Kings discovery and spent 19 years with the Silver Standard team. He was also Tudor’s CEO and is now its SVP Exploration. Goldstorm was spun out of Tudor and holds Crown and the smaller Electrum project. In this introduction interview, I asked him about the history of the project, why nobody tried to do the same thing he is now trying, and what the future might hold, as well as time, money, and risks.

High-Grade Copper-Gold in Alaska, But Is the System Big Enough?

Alex Metals is a newly listed explorer focused on high-grade volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) systems in coastal Southeast Alaska. It holds three projects. KSO, Wodski, and Frenchie, in what they believe is an underexplored portion of the Alexander Triassic Belt that hosts the world-class Greens Creek and Windy Craggy deposits. In this interview with CEO Gwen Preston, I asked about management’s track record and incentives, the first drill results at KSO, the geological model, why previous operators left Wodski, First Nations relations, cash and financing for Phase 2, permitting risks, and the biggest criticisms of the company.

$1.9B Cu-Mo Project in Idaho, But Can it Really Work at This Grade? | Idaho Copper CEO Interview

Idaho Copper is advancing its 100%-owned CuMo copper-molybdenum-silver project in Boise County, Idaho, one of the largest undeveloped copper-molybdenum deposits in the United States. In this interview with CEO Andrew Brodkey and Chairman Robert Scannell, I asked about the updated PEA economics, whether the low grades can support a mine, management’s track record and incentives, the shift away from the 2020 study’s massive scale, permitting and environmental risks, the reliability of the historical resource for a PFS, drilling and ore-sorting plans, funding, and the biggest remaining risks.

Funded to Build a New Copper-Gold Mine, But Can They Start on Time?

Atico Mining operates the El Roble underground copper-gold mine in Colombia (90% owned) and is advancing its 100%-owned La Plata high-grade VMS copper-gold-zinc-silver project in Ecuador toward construction. In this interview, I asked CEO Fernando Ganoza about the recent Trafigura financing package that funds pre-construction work, the path to a Q1 2027 construction start at La Plata, operational and exploration progress at El Roble, capital structure and insider alignment, permitting/community risks in both jurisdictions, cost and timeline sensitivities, and remaining catalysts.

Big Copper Project in Chile, But Can a Junior Actually Build It?

Hot Chili’s flagship project is Costa Fuego, a coastal copper-gold hub in Chile’s Atacama about 600 km north of Santiago. It is made up of Cortadera, Productora, Alice and San Antonio, plus the newer La Verde discovery about 30 km south of the planned processing plant. They also own 80% of Huasco Water, a seawater business that supplies the project and could sell water to others in the valley. In this first-pass interview with the CEO, I asked about the incentives, management’s track record, the history of the asset, and the biggest potential risks for the company’s future.

Uranium Project Next to a Discovery, But Can They Fund the Drill?

Generation Uranium’s flagship is the Yath uranium project in Nunavut’s Kivalliq region, about 235 km southwest of Baker Lake and directly north of ATHA Energy’s Angilak property. It’s early stage. Decades of historical work turned up surface samples close to 10% U3O8, but the best drill result so far is 1 m of 0.22% U3O8. The CEO thinks the project has much more to offer than that. In this interview, I asked Michael about the history of the asset, his commitment to the company, and his plans for the project’s future.

Big Copper Target Next to a Major in BC, But Will it Hold Together?

Oreterra Metals’ flagship project is Trek South, a copper-gold porphyry target in BC’s Golden Triangle about 10 km southeast of Teck and Newmont’s Galore Creek. Nobody drilled it before because it sat under a glacier until recently. Kevin was founding CEO of GT Gold, which found Saddle North before Newmont bought the company, and earlier ran PC Gold. The second asset is Kinkaid in Nevada. In this interview, I asked about the history of the asset, their plans for its future, the timeline behind the catalysts, and the risks to their strategy.

The Only Uranium Project in Guyana, But Can They Drill There?

U92 Energy’s flagship asset is the Kurupung uranium project in Guyana’s Cuyuni-Mazaruni region. Kurupung has about 129,000 metres of historical drilling (just over 40,000m by Cogema and about 88,000m by U3O8 Corp), which stopped work after Fukushima. The historical estimate is 10.6M lb indicated at 0.072% U3O8 plus 10M lb inferred, for 20.6M lb at a 0.03% cut-off, across four Aricheng deposits. At the originally recommended 0.05% cut-off it falls to about 16M lb. None of it is U92’s own drilling. In this interview, I asked about the history of the asset, the current state of the permits, and their plans for the future.

Visible Gold in New Holes, But Can the Assays Confirm Scale?

Dreadnought Resources’ flagship asset is the Star of Mangaroon, a small high-grade gold deposit in the Gascoyne that Black Cat Syndicate would mine, haul and process at its Paulsens mill. Metzke’s Find at the Illaara project is lined up as a second potential small cash source. The bigger goal is using that cash to fund exploration for a multi-million-ounce discovery at Mangaroon and Illaara. The company also holds rare earths and niobium at Yin and Gifford Creek, and a nickel-copper project at the Money Intrusion that Teck is earning into. In this interview, I asked about the share structure, the Black Cat relationship, why Star is late, the cash position, the exploration pipeline and the main risks.

Targeting First Gold in Mali Soon, But Will Permitting Cooperate?

Compass Gold’s flagship is the Massala project in southern Mali. Compass wants to take Massala straight from exploration into a small, shallow, gravity-only open pit under Mali’s new Small Mine Permit category, without doing a PEA or feasibility study first. In this interview, we asked the CEO about that plan, as well as the time and money he expects it to take.

Copper-Zinc Resource Growth in Newfoundland, But Is is Big Enough?

Canterra Mineral is focused on the Lundberg deposit at their 100%-owned Buchans project in central Newfoundland. Lundberg is a stockwork sulphide deposit tied to the VMS system that fed the old Buchans mine. That makes it different from the higher-grade massive sulphide lenses that were mined there for 50 years. In this interview, I asked the CEO about the recent resource upgrade, their plans for the future, and what else they have going on.

New Copper Discovery, But Is the Grade There?

Storm Exploration’s focus right now is its 100% owned Gold Standard project, about 60 km north of Fort Frances in northwestern Ontario. Storm is targeting a copper and zinc VMS system there, defined by a conductor that it now interprets as running about 7 km. It also has two other projects in the portfolio, Keezhik and Attwood. In this interview, I asked for an update on the drilling, as well as about the first drill program at Gold Standard, Eric Sprott’s investment, and the plan for 2027.
